Hampton 5 - a -side Football Tournament

The first Saturday of the term saw the Year 6  5-a-side football team take part in the Hampton Tournament.

We were first off at 09.00 playing against Bishop Perrin Primary ‘A’ team. The team settled quickly and were deserved 3 - 0 winners. The next game was straight against the ‘B’ team which we won by the skin of our teeth , 3 - 2.

After a rest we met a very strong, well drilled Fulham Prep team, who gave us a lesson in 5-a-side football, beating us 11 - 2. The team recovered well in their next game with a good 2 - 1 win against Twickenham Prep.

Surbiton Boys Prep ‘B’ were our  next opponents and we won 5 - 3. St. Mary’s Prep were too good for us winning 4 - 1.

We had a successful day, winning four of our six games. Well done boys. Henry scored 12 goals, Harry 3 and Isaac 1. The players of the tournament were Henry in attack and Torin in defence.

A big thank you to Hampton for  hosting such a well run tournament and to the parents who supported the team.

Year 5 Team

The Year 5 football team travelled to Hampton school last Saturday for their first taste of tournament football and a sneak peek at what secondary schools look like. Tobi and Anaay joined the squad, playing up from Year 4, doing a very good job; Tobi a rock in defence and Anaay showing good skills in midfield.

The tournament was a ‘league’ style tournament and we got to play 9 games in total, improving as we went along by developing out formations and tactics. All the boys tried their hardest and represented the school well, Harry being our star performer, netting three goals!

Oliver and Oscar gained valuable experience in goal (and sometimes on pitch) and gave of their all, whilst Will and Thomas got stuck in and enjoyed themselves. It was a good experience for all involved, and we look forward to further tournaments and fixtures throughout the Autumn term. Well done for trying your best and representing the school very well.
