Westward School

From little acorns grow precious shoots. See your child’s development grow year after year.

Our ethos is supportive, caring and respectful. We understand how important positive mental health and wellbeing is to our lives. We recognise that children’s mental health is a vital factor in their overall wellbeing and how it can affect their learning and achievements. Our school encourages children to be open and we support all children to have their voice heard.

The school aims to provide pupils with a thorough educational grounding through a curriculum which is balanced and creative, so enabling pupils to fulfil their potential and develop an enjoyment of life long learning.

Pupils are prepared for admission to a variety of senior schools both independent and state. Westward has a long record of academic success with many students winning scholarships.

At Westward we aim for our pupils to be safe, happy and caring.

Pupils are encouraged to value everyone as an individual and to develop an understanding and respect for a wide range of religious values, languages, and cultural traditions and ways of life.

Courtesy and good manners are encouraged from the Reception class upwards.

Everyone in the Westward community is challenged and encouraged to thrive and achieve as individuals, preparing them for their role as caring and active citizens in modern Britain.

At Westward we aim for our pupils to become confident independent individuals who take responsibility for their actions, are resilient and who understand their role within our School community and in the wider world.
